Financial Analyst

 

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of External Reporting, the analyst will play an instrumental and hands-on role in the preparation of the company’s external financial statements, analysis of financial information, presentations as well as play a key role in supporting senior management projects and initiatives.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Preparation of quarterly interim and annual consolidated external financial statements and notes under IFRS
  • Preparation of analysis for quarterly interim and annual MD&A
  • Participate in preparation of key investors’ documents – Management information circular and Annual information form
  • Support of investor relations function (press releases, presentations to investors etc.)
  • Support quarterly reviews and year-end external audits
  • Effectively interact with the different business units and corporate department
  • Learn and understand Knight’s pharmaceutical business and its international aspect
  • Participate in the Financial Reporting team and global Finance’s continuous improvement efforts in sharing knowledge and expertise in collaborating with finance and cross-functional teams to implement best practices to improve financial reporting processes

   Qualifications (Skills/Experience)

  • CPA with minimum 2 years of experience with public companies and/or audit firms
  • ‘Can do’ attitude, focused on achieving results and professional growth
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Bilingualism (English & French) is an asset

Role:

 

This full-time position will be responsible for supporting the market access team including PMPRB filings, hospital contracts, price increases, etc. as well as implementing market access initiatives that contribute to and support the long-term growth strategies of in-licensed specialty products and product launches.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead PMPRB bi-annual filings
  • Lead hospital contracting process
  • Assess, recommend and manage the price increase process
  • Understand provincial listing processes and procedures as they apply to Market Access
  • Support reimbursement initiatives, payer research and competitive landscape assessments
  • Track, monitor and evaluate competitor pricing and reimbursement strategies
  • Support the design and development of optimal and competitive reimbursement and pricing strategies
  • Manage pricing and formulary listing databases and ensure price lists are accurate and up-to-date
  • Work closely with Medical, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial

 

Secondary responsibilities

  • Serve as primary reference point for provincial authorities regarding related product inquiries
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve internal pricing and reimbursement processes
  • Ad hoc projects as required

 

Qualifications/Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Life Sciences, Business or related fields
  • 2 years of experience in Market Access, Reimbursement or Pharmacy Benefits Manager role
  • Knowledge of PMPRB
  • Knowledge of provincial and public formularies and pCPA Frameworks
  • Strong Strategic, Results-Driven and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Extremely Detail-Oriented
  • Solid Project Management Capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Communication (written and oral)

 

Assets

  • Medical, Regulatory Affairs Experience
  • MBA or other advanced degree

Job Overview:

Knight Therapeutics is a fast-growing multinational pharmaceutical company with its headquarter in Montreal, Canada. As a Tax Analyst at Knight Therapeutics, you will work with tax team members in Canada and abroad on various Canadian and international tax projects. This position offers the chance to engage with a variety of tax disciplines, particularly focusing on international aspects, with a strong emphasis on Canadian tax reporting obligations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional, and multi-currency setting and desires to grasp all tax aspects of a multinational company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. prepare or review quarterly and year-end tax provision working papers for Canadian entities and certain foreign entities;
  1. prepare tax notes for annual financial statements;
  2. prepare certain Canadian tax filings such as NR4, T1134s
  3. review certain foreign entities’ corporate tax returns;
  4. assist corporate tax manager or head of tax on cash repatriation, intercompany financing and other intercompany transactions
  5. assist head of tax on merger and acquisition tax due diligence and on other special tax projects
  6. assist local finance team on tax audits and special tax transactions
  7. other ad-hoc projects

 

 

Profile:

  1. Strong knowledge and experience in tax provision (current tax and deferred tax) with a focus on Canadian tax regulations;
  2. international tax exposure is an asset;
  3. Excellent communication skills in both English and French; Spanish is a significant asset;
  4. Excellent Excel skills and analytical skills;
  5. Proactive and willing to take full ownership of assigned tasks;
  6. Strong organizational skills with the capacity to work with minimal supervision and to meet reporting deadlines.
